Diamonds are Ana de Armas' best friend at the 2023 Oscars.
The Blonde actress brought Marilyn Monroe glam to red carpet at the March 12 event, dazzling in a sparkling Louis Vuitton dress. (See all the stars at the Oscars 2023.) The 34-year-old, who is nominated for Best Performance by an Actress in a Leading Role, completed the look with blush makeup and jewelry.
And while Ana's Academy Awards look certainly paid homage to the late Hollywood legend, she detailed how the entire Blonde crew felt inspired by as they made the film.
"Marilyn is all over LA," she told E! News' Laverne Cox. "Everywhere we went, all the locations, everywhere you go she's there, everyone has a story about her. So we definitely all felt her presence in the sense of that spiritual energy, and I think that definitely helped with the commitment and that willingness of everyone doing right by her and loving the process of making this movie even more."
And soon, that presence could earn Ana her first Oscar. Joining her in the Best Performance by an Actress in a Leading Role category are Cate Blanchett (Tár), Andrea Riseborough (To Leslie), Michelle Williams (The Fabelmans)and Michelle Yeoh (Everything Everywhere All At Once).
And last fall, the Knives Out star explained just how life-changing stepping into Marilyn's iconic shoes were.
Calling the film a "gift" to work on, Ana told The Hollywood Reporter, "We were in her service, in a way. She was all I thought about. She was all I could talk about. She was with me. And it was beautiful."
